Four Rivers Counseling

Counseling Services

4RC Counseling Services “meets each client where they are,” and builds on each client’s individual strengths as client’s work to reduce their symptoms. Collaborative Individual Treatment Plans are created to improve mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation skills and interpersonal effectiveness.

4RC believes that by exploring our inner world, we may identify different inner “parts” of us, including our Inner Child and our Inner Critic, that require healing. Evidence-based techniques help re-integrate all “parts” of the Inner Self by healing “wounds” through acceptance, taking slow, intentional steps towards becoming our best or “Highest Self.”

4RC takes into consideration the person-in-their-environment, or the “whole person” in each system they interact with, whether at home, work, school, or in the community. This strengths-based clinical approach empowers each client with tools to enhance their inner world, and outer world as well.

Counseling Services

As a veteran licensed clinical social worker (LCSW), Jenny has utilized evidence-based forms of holistic counseling for decades with undeniable results. Jenny meets all of her unique clients exactly “where they are” clinically, taking into account the influences of external and internal environments to effectively and powerfully treat the “whole person” while getting immediate results.

For decades, Jenny has helped thousands of clients utilize evidenced-based, results-oriented clinical approaches to heal each client from the inside out. Some of Jenny’s favorite and most effective clinical approaches include:

  • Trauma-Informed Clinical Care Certification for Youth and Adults
  • Emotional Eating/Chronic Dieting/Binge Eating/Restrictive Eating/Body Image Approaches
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for Adults and Adolescents
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Using these approaches, Jenny prides herself on creating impactful short and long-term results, while also empowering each client with effective tools to continue improvements long after treatment is over.

Nature forest sun

Nature “Green” Therapy

Jenny provides outdoor Nature Therapy for clients of all ages and abilities, weaving together therapeutic, trauma-informed strategies, tools and activities that utilize the sacred, healing elements of nature. These range from leisurely walks at a local lake filled with life, to sitting comfortably in the sun beside the Smith River. Countless, evidenced-based studies already show that Nature Therapy dramatically enhances the natural connection between human well-being and the natural environment.

Each Nature Therapy outdoor session supportively explores a myriad of mental health topics – including anxiety, depression, PTSD and complex grief – among the various, inspirational and breathtaking, local backdrops in nature that are easily accessible, private and sacred.

Clients don’t have to go outdoors to enjoy the calming and reflective power of nature in their clinical care. Jenny also provides a floor-to-ceiling office space with more than 25 plants (and counting), to help deliver nature’s elements into the therapy room at the feet of each client without having to venture outside.

Child, Tween and Teen Counseling Services

Your child’s emotional, social, health, physical and academic well-being shapes the focus of our clinical care provision to uniquely match the clinical needs of your child. 4RC also places priority on collaboration with parents / caregivers through ongoing parent coaching sessions to help create an overall supportive and excellent clinical experience.

4RC rapidly addresses suicidal ideation and self-harm by incorporating Safety Planning early on in clinical treatment so that clients and parents feel safe and secure throughout the clinical journey.

Your child’s individual needs and goals demand that 4RC’s expert clinical care reduce symptomology as effectively as possible, while vastly improving your child or teen’s overall outlook, one session at a time.

4RC recognizes the interconnectedness of various aspects of each child’s life, and aims to promote safety, connection, balance, and harmony, in every facet, to promote lasting improvements and growth.

4RC prides itself on incorporating evidenced-nature and other outdoor activities into therapy sessions, which has proven effective, especially for trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, ADD and ADHD.

One Minute of Therapy

Therapy doesn’t have to occur in a designated space. It doesn’t need to take an hour. All you need is a quiet place, the right mindset, and the ability to focus for just one minute. Our “One Minute of Therapy with Jenny” videos are designed to help you center yourself in the midst of your daily routine.

Jenny developed these 60-second videos and reels based on the need for free, mental health and wellness. The goal is to offer bite-sized, goal-oriented, powerful sources of evidenced-based advice to address immediate, daily concerns.
